Janet McDonagh- As a child I was encouraged to draw and stitch, developing a deep passion for these hobbies that would continue into adulthood. In the year 2000 I qualified as an embroiderer but was unhappy with the design element of what I was producing, so I put down my needle and thread and picked up a paintbrush, embarking on a journey, which took me to many art classes, workshops and courses using many different art mediums and studying a broad range of subject matter such as portraiture, life drawing, still life and a personal study of light and shade.
