In 1960 a small group of leisure time artists in Walton on Thames decided to form an art club. They had originally met at local art evening classes and wanted to keep together throughout the summer months.

 

Through the years, our numbers have included professional artists such as Jill Bays and Freda Anderson, both of whom teach, write books, and have produced videos online. Additionally the club has professional artist Edwin Cripps as a member.

Our membership continues to steadily grow and we now have a very diverse and wonderful mix of amateur and semi professional artists.

​

The Art Club puts on an exhibition twice a year in Walton on Thames during  Spring and Autumn. These have been extremely successful and not only does it provide our members the chance to exhibit their paintings, but it is also an opportunity for them to sell their work.
